Earlier this year, the Copeland GDF Working Group commissioned a programme of research via Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) and their research partner Yonder, to provide a snapshot of current levels of awareness and understanding of the Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) programme.
The research allowed the Working Group to gather views of local people and gain an understanding of the issues they would want the Working Group to consider.
Carrying out research is one of the key tasks of the Working Group who will continue to survey public opinion to help shape its programme of engagement with the community.
